Race, Nation, Identity

On April 21-22, 2011, the University of California Center for New Racial Studies held its first conference at UCLA, with the theme of "Race, Nation, Identity." The conference was designed to introduce the UCCNRS to the broad community of UC, especially researchers working on race and racism issues.  We sought to present the results of our first year of sponsored research (2010-2011), which focused on the topic of "The Nation and Its Peoples; Citizens, Denizens, Migrants."  We also introduced the topic for the second year of sponsored research (2011-2012), "Race/Gender/Class Intersectionality."
